Sea Turtle Observation Workshop

This eco-educational experience takes place at Faro Celarain Eco Park. You will be able to watch how baby turtles emerge from their nests and go out to the ocean. Rescue/Release Turtles and Clean their Nests at Punta Sur Eco Beach Park. Monday to Sundays: 4:30pm to 8:30pm Cost: $60 USD Includes: Transportation to and from hotels (Main Avenue Rafael E. Fiestas de San Miguel Arcángel

Date: September 21 – 29. One of Cozumel's most important religious festivals honoring San Miguel Arcángel, Saint Michael, Saint of the island. The celebration begins on September 21st, featuring colorful pilgrimage that start from the church of San Miguel and go throughout downtown. During this week, local residents attend mass and take part in daily pilgrimage wearing traditional Mayan outfits called "hipiles". On the last day, a pilgrimage of fishermen carrying an image of San Miguel Arcángel to the downtown pier and get on board. The public can board a ferry, surrounded by fishing boats, to join the pilgrimage by sea, throwing flowers into the ocean as they sail along. Cozumel has honored San Miguel Arcángel as its Patron Saint since 1848 when Mr Rejón, a Priest from Chemax, Yucatan, arrived to Cozumel with new inhabitants and an image of Saint Michael. Prior to that, in 1526, Francisco de Montejo, a representative of the King of Spain, was authorized to conquer and develop the island of Cozumel and gave the island the Christian name of San Miguel de Cozumel.

IRONMAN COZUMEL

Cozumel Island’s privileged weather allows visitors from all over the world to be able to participate in world-class sporting events and to satisfy their adrenaline craving while practicing some of the most exciting activities in the world. Ironman is the most demanding triathlon test in the world. The athletes that participate are expected to cover 2.4 miles swimming, 112 miles on a bicycle and 26.2 miles running. All three courses must be finished within 17 hours. The average finishing time is about 12 hours. The triathletes that participate must train very hard for about two years in order to be able to participate in this race so they can be able to cover such great distances. The athletes must first qualify in a number of prior races just to be able to participate. Distances:
